This is our incredibly stable Quick Release Arca Plate for our Sand Castle ARCA bag and Sand Castle Flatty bag. This plate can be used with many other bags that utilize four straps to attach to a plate.
NOTHING locks in as tight as our unique design of our arca plate to our Sand Castle Arca bag.
The plate has slots to pass your straps through and are spaced to match our Sand Castle Arca bag. The spacing, front to rear measures 5-1/2" outside to outside and accepts straps up to 1" wide. This can be used with other bags as well as ours. The wide plate with our unique shape is designed to sink and lock into our Sand Castle bag.
**In our constant pursuit of the impossible task of reaching perfection, in March of 2026 we changed the design of our arca plate. The design changes are subtle but make a difference in stability.
The center of our plate now has an hour glass shape. This hour glass shape was done for a few reasons. Easier access to the quick release throw lever and the adjustment for the throw lever tension and this help the bag flex up around the hour glass shape eliminating any hard prop from touching the plate itself. The next change is the center of the "sand castle" hump has been removed. Both of these allow the bag to sink into the plate deeper and makes a very tight groove for the prop to fit into.
